About This Chapter
In this short scene, Baroness laments the fact that the ghost of the baronet has poisoned herself. He asks what he will do now that he is no longer a ghost. He tells the ghost that he will have to purify the waters of the city so that they will no longer be tainted by the "odor" of the past. The ghost tells him that he should tell all the other baroness that they lost during the war, and that they should tell him that the first attempt was a disappointment. He says that he doubts anyone expected that the clones would be so fickle, but that they have held back so much that he wonders if they will be able to defeat the ghost in the next attempt. He also says that if he wants information about his brother and half-wolf, he should ask him himself. He goes on to say that he went to the Federation to deal with "some unfinished business" and that he can't bear to see his niece again. He wonders if the ghost can wake up, but he tells her that it is forbidden for a ghost to touch the soul of a living person. He and the ghost are about to start the experiment.
