About This Chapter
In this short scene, Bardolph and Bardolph discuss the events of the previous night. Bardolph tells Bardolph that he has seen a half-wolf in the body of a cumaean woman, and that he is afraid that the woman is one of the half-wolves. He asks Bardolph to bring the blood to him if he goes to the city of Thyria, where he will be able to meet the other half of the wolf family. He says that if he does not, he will kill them all. The two men discuss the war, which they do not approve of, but Bardolph says that he would rather have the children of the bitcharium than the soldiers of the arcanics. He also says that the war is boring, and he would like to see it ended. He wonders if the woman in the picture is trying to start a war against her own people, but he knows that she will not care. He is sure that the prime minister of the colony will be interested in the news of the death of sophia, and she will also want to know about her research in the cumae. He wants to know if he was able to retrieve her papers before the attack, and if it was a mask. He believes that she took a fragment of her mission, which is to find the papers of the other cumaea. He wishes that he could tell the commander of the airship that they are leaving immediately, so that he will know of the whereabouts of the fragments of his mission
