The yanshis have come to search for the boy and find out if he's in the sect. They're here to find him, and they want to know if it's okay for him to run away from his master. He says that he was outside of the window when he was arguing with the master, and he must have known that he would choose to escape. He also says that the master gave him the baggage before he left, and that must have been the reason why the master brought him to the sect in the first place. He asks if the master is going to blame him for what happened to him a hundred years before, and if he cares more about him than anyone else. The floor-sweeper, he says, is the one who's been secretly teaching him how to do his dirty work. He's the only one not to realize that his master cares about him more than any other person. They find footprints on the ground, and someone on the other side of the mountain is chasing them. They hear voices above them, and one of them is wearing dark clothes. They run to get help, but they're surrounded by people. They can't just run away, they have to fight. They need to find a way to get away. They decide to disguise themselves as a dwarf white gourd to lure the people away.
