Meanwhile, back at the prisoner's quarters, we find out that the worms have already been put in the human skin lamp, which means that they're ready to be poisoned. We learn that it's going to be a long night before the poison is created, and that the prisoners are going to have to wait until the next morning to break the lock on the cage. They're worried about the worms, but they can't get rid of them because the cage is so strong that they won't be able to break it. They also worry about the phantom, who's guarding the room, but the phantom isn't worried about it.
