In this chapter, the Governess tells Lockwood that she's sorry for what he's done to her, and that she hopes he'll buy her some "broiled eel" . She's depressed that she has to go to her mother's house for an appointment, and she wants to make sure that Lockwood doesn't have to go. She also wants to know why Lockwood hasn't asked Roxane if she'd like to go out with him. Lockwood tells her that he
