In this chapter, we learn that Hiroshi's mother, Hayashida, has invited Hiroshi to her house for a marriage interview. Hiroshi is not interested in the marriage proposal because he is busy with his work. He tells his mother that he and his fiancee, Rio, have been "grinning" together for a long time. He also tells her that he wants to marry her because he can keep his job and they can get divorced once things start to fall apart. They can have a vacation as well as a honeymoon period of 10 days.
