If he wants to live, he needs to remember that he is a demon and that he has a duty to live. He says that if he can't forget his duty, he will never belong anywhere, and will die alone. He wants to go back to duty or whatever he has to do in order to die. He tells the audience that he's just changed his appearance for the sake of his appearance.
