The narrator tells us that he has been looking for his son since his mother's death. He recognizes him at the banquet, even though he's been missing for 10 years. He asks him to come back with him. He tells him that he is his only son, and that his highness might have missed him, but he can't arbitrarily acknowledge him as his son. The narrator asks if he is really his father's son. He then asks if there is anything else in the world that would make him angry. The two of them go back to their bedroom, and the narrator says that he'll sleep there for a while. Then he tells the narrator that he must avenge his mother and him from now on.
