When Miss Betsey wakes up, she finds that there is someone else who is still alive. It's not clear if it's a man or a mermaid, but it sounds like someone is trying to get her to give up her life-saving medicine to a demon. She's all, "screw it, I'm not going to eat your medicine, and I'll take you with me to get the medicine from this guy" .
