The next morning, the two young men go to Mingxu's house to find the missing woman. They find her dead body, and Ming's brother and sister-in-law have gone to fetch a doctor, but Ming is too ill to go. Ming tells the young men that he and his brother are the only ones in the area who can care for each other.
