The young master tries to explain to the others that he has not seen his master. He tells them that he went to fetch water, but that he cannot walk because he cannot find the mermaid pearl. He says that if he ran into him again, he would slap him and make him "piggback" for the rest of the night. The demon tells the young master that he and his sister had their first meeting when they were 13 years old, and that shortly after that, her family was annihilated. When they were about to kill their sister, the two of them made up. The master tells the group that the plan has been broken, because the girl they were looking for is not the one they are looking for. She does not have the pearl, and they will all succumb to poison unless they take the medicine the palace provides. The potion will only be available if the girl gives it to the apothecary, and the master says that he will find a way to cure the poison.
