In this chapter, we learn that Captain O'Brien's son, Nemo, has defected to the U.S. Army and joined the Third Gulf War. Nemo's father, the old fogey, is furious that his son has joined the war, but Nemo assures him that it was all his fault that Nemo joined the army. Nemo is also upset that Nemo has not been able to visit him since the war began, but he assures his son that he will see him soon.
