In this chapter, we learn more about the wreck of the U.S. Navy's experimental submarine, the "Youbrenin," which was discovered in the middle of the night by a crewman who accidentally opened the side of the ship's hull with a torpedo. The crewman, however, had locked the launch mechanism, preventing the ship from taking off again. The only way out of the hole is to launch a second time.
