About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the plan was to let three of the men die, and then claim that they were the saviors of the group. The plan didn't work, and now they're going to have to kill each other to keep the plan alive. The doctor tells the group that someone has taken all of their sleeping pills and sedatives, and that the doctor is going to examine them. He's going to make sure that they don't do anything that could cause an epidemic or spread a disease. They're not doing anything that's uncalculated, he says, and they'll send all the men who had any contact with the doctor to the cell. He says that if the doctor finds nothing wrong with the men, then he'll find something wrong with them. But if he doesn't, then they won't be doing anything wrong with him. He tells the doctor that he's got his eye on him, and he says that there's nothing he can do to stop the group from killing each other. He promises to bring the doctor right away.
