In this chapter, we learn that the narrator has been having sex with a student named lulu, who is hiding under a table in his apartment. The two of them have been drinking heavily, and the narrator is worried that the girl might be raped by a group of "weirdo" men. He asks lulu if she is drunk, and she tells him that she is, but that she has been sleeping with someone else. lulu tells the narrator that he is the "wall guy" , and that his ex-boyfriend "punched the wall" when he broke up with lulu. He tells lulu that he has seen the girl a lot lately, and lulu says that he cannot leave her alone, since she is "too much a tempter" . The wall guy says that lulu looks older than he is, and they are the same age. The narrator says that everyone around him is "a stu dent," and that he can't believe that they are having sex. He thanks the wall guy for walking him home, and he asks if they can have another drink together. They both say that they haven't yet returned the favor, but lulu asks if he can come back in and have a drink with them
