About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he and his friends are having sex with one another, and that they're not in love with each other. They're just having fun. The narrator's parents are confused, and the narrator tries to calm them down. He tells them that he's just pretending to be a friend of their son's, and they should be psyched for him. He's going to have a "test of courage" , and then he'll have a night of stargazing . Oh, and he should have sex with his friend, too. Okay, so we're going to guess that the narrator and his friend are going to go to the same hotel, too, but the narrator is bummed out that he has to pretend to be an "introvert" . He wants to know why his parents are so excited to go back to the city, but he can't figure out why his friend is acting so nervous. He asks the narrator to calm him down, and she tells him that she's afraid that something is going to happen to him. She tells him to calm down, because if something happens to him, it's not going to be good. He starts to freak out, but she calms him down and tells him not to worry.
