In order to cure Renchuan, who is pretending to be ill, Cui Minghao arranges for a new nurse to be employed. The new nurse, however, is too good-looking to be of any use to Renchuan. Ren says that he is brave, and that she is his medicine. The chapter ends with a discussion of the importance of self-study exams for adults.
