The two of them rush to the store to get the last two pieces of beef. The narrator says that he still has to go back to the hospital for his drip. The other patient refuses to eat the beef, saying that his stomach is full of vegetables and that he cannot eat so much. The beef is delicious, the narrator says, and he will call the doctor if his stomach hurts.
