Back at the castle, we find out that the pestilence is gone, and that the pope's army has arrived. We learn that da vinci isn't in prison, but in a prison on the outskirts of town, where he's being held captive by the crusaders. This is probably the "god of time's plan" , since they thought they'd split up so they wouldn't have to fight each other. Finally, the time spirit tells us that they've come to the wrong place. They're not supposed to be fighting each other, but instead they're going to fight one another.
