Back at the office station, the gang is jubilant. They've been through a lot, and they're really lucky to be alive. They want to get back to work, but the commoners are blocking the way. The guards are trying to keep them out, but they can't keep them off long enough to get a response from the pope. The steward tells the gang to go inside and talk to him.
