In this chapter, we are introduced to a number of characters who have been introduced in the previous chapters. The first of these characters is Corinna, who is a young woman who has just returned from a trip to the underworld. She is the daughter of a captain who has been imprisoned in a dungeon for 200 years. The captain tells her that the two balls are the key to unlocking the gates of the underworld, and that they are used to seal off the 11th and last god of time, pestilence.
