In this chapter, we are introduced to the protagonist, a young boy who has just been born. He is in the hospital with his grandmother, who has died. The protagonist is overcome with grief over his grandmother's death. He tells his mother that he wants to kill his grandmother. He feels that someone is following him and that he is being followed.
