After bathing, the two men enter the medici territory, where they find that the guards are not there, but there is no entry. The two men try to stop them, but they cannot. They believe that they are part of the crusaders' army, but da vinci tells them that he is not inferior to their uncle, and that they should not be so passionate about their love for him. He says that he knows he is very well known, but that they do not need to be as passionate as he is. He tells them to stop pretending that he has a secret, and says that it is something related to his tattoo. They laugh at him, and he says that his secret is that he will drive people to danger. They are policemen from the future, he says, and not criminals. They say that they cannot judge a person's character from a single point of view, because there is a beast inside of each one of them. He might have done evil things in the past, but he saved them.
