Back in the present, the gang is trying to figure out what to do with the candy they found in the street. They decide to take the black one and leave the white one for the kid to choose from. The kid is confused because he has never met the uncle before. The uncle tells him to pick one, but the kid can't do that because he's never met him before. He tells the uncle that the man in the hat was talking about the candy and the man wearing the hat talked about the meaning of the candy. The boy is confused by the uncle's advice. He remembers that he was the same person in the year before. In that year, a lot of things happened and earthquakes occurred all over the world. The area above the city was gorgeous and full of sunlight. The sundial was lit up and the time was on the horizon. The house they've just moved into is in the same neighborhood as the old house they used to live in. The doorman opens the door for the boy. He's excited to see that the house is low-quality and that the area around the house may not be as safe as it used to be. He had a friend that lived in the area before, but that friend is missing. He asks the doorman if he can open the door to the boy
