The Governess tells the Governess that she's been worried that something is wrong between the two of them and that she wants to know why she hasn't gotten mad at her. She says that she can't break up with her because there's no way she'd ever want to be with a man who's not in love with her. But she also says that since the beginning of their relationship, she'll always be in love. She tells her that she lied to her when they were alone on a senior trip because she wanted to make sure that she was telling the truth. She also tells her about how worried she was when she said that. The teacher is jealous of her, she says, because she can no longer be jealous of the things that she used to take for granted. She's worried that she won't be able to take it anymore. She asks if she can come up to her place and touch her, and she says that's the first time she feels like she can do that. She feels as if she has been "liberated" from her worries and worries about what's going on between them. She wants to show her face to her, but she doesn't want to show it to anyone else. She just wants to be alone with the man she loves.
