In the meantime, Shmoop's father is busy trying to figure out how to get his son back to the throne. He's worried that his son has become a home-debtor, which means he's going to have to borrow money to get back on his feet. He suggests that they hire a housekeeper to help take care of their son, who's been living with his grandfather in a house that was destroyed by the invading army. The housekeeper is welcome to come and stay at the house any time, but she's not allowed to talk about her own family, since they don't want to be separated. They've just discussed the matter, and Shmo and his brother are happy to have a housekeeper. They all agree that they're family now, so they can't be jealous of each other's houses.
