About This Chapter
In this short scene, we learn that the father of the missing prince has decided to run away from the palace. He wants to know why his daughter-in-law does not want to talk with him after meeting with the prince. He is afraid that she will tell the truth and hurt his son. He tells her that she is a "living bug" of the system and that she should not be passive. He asks her to wake up so that he can talk to him. She does not wake up, and the prince is waiting for her downstairs. She tells him that she did not want him to come downstairs, and that it is time for her to build her own career. He thanks her for her kindness, and says that he still likes her. He says that the temperament of the fourth young lady is different than three years ago and that he hopes she will forgive him. He then asks her if she wants to cooperate with him, and she says that she does want to cooperate. He demands that she give him the broken watch, and he says that if she does not cooperate, his son will be killed. He also demands to know who is playing the part of the prince in the puppet play. She says that her fiancee is a poor drinker and that the buff has not been working on her. She then asks him if he is okay, and when he says he is, she says she is so drunk that she has not woken up yet. She asks him to get away from her, and then he asks if she is his fiancee. She is drunk, and his fiancee is not acting in the play. The prince has already invited her to watch the play, and now he wants her to join him.
