Shmoop and Ching-lu prepare to leave for the rendezvous. Ching says that he has already answered all of Ching's questions. He asks if there's anything else he needs to confirm. He says that they're half an hour away from the rendezvous and that they still have time to get there. He wants to be sure that Ching doesn't try to restrain him with a rope. He's not going to hurt a woman, he says, so he's going to count to three and then tell the driver to stop the carriage and meet him right now. Ching-li asks if the fireworks were a signal for him, and Ching says they were. He tells the driver not to hurry up because he wants to get to Ching-lin. He also says that Ching-Lin is coming to save him. He explains that he clarified the identity of his master, and he wants Ching-Li to get the woman to meet him so he can tell her the secret of his identity. He then says that the mall is sending a package for him and he'll let her go.
