In the meantime, Lang cangzi and the other tianshi masters have gathered at the top of Luo mountain to discuss the spiritual key. They are happy to hear that the taoists have agreed to obey the agreed-upon formula. They ask why the scepter of the thieving sect is asking for the key, and the man replies that he has always felt that the man is surrounded by evil auras. The man then launches into a tirade against the treachery of the other sect masters, accusing them of trying to kill him. The truncheon-wielding man then proceeds to explain that the elite disciples under the hua'an terrace will not be intimidated by them, and they will come to subdue him. He then goes on to say that the disciples who are planning to go to the terrace and observe the ceremony will also come to the mountain to prepare for the ceremony. He is envious of the people who are on the terrace, and he wants to be there too, too. He orders the men to go down to the mountains and call for help, and warns them to be careful lest they be caught again.
