This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between the Governess and Littimer, in which Littimer says that his intuition is getting weaker. He tells her that he's just about to go out for a walk when he hears a thud and sees that something is wrong. The Governess tells Littimer to hurry up because she's about to cook dinner. Littimer tries to get her to calm down, but she
