About This Chapter
The monster tells the others that he has never harmed anyone, and that he is going to lose his hold on the girl. He tells them that the woman he has been holding has been possessed, and he slaps her where he can find her. He wonders if she is the woman who went missing three years ago, and wonders why he doesn't understand her. She rescued him from the shore, and she brought him food and offerings from the villagers. He says he has become "that monster in everyones perspective" because he can only drink the lake water, and before he knew it, he became like this. The monster says that when they were in the village, they noticed that many looked older than they were supposed to be, and they seemed to have died. He asks if they should get out first, and then talk later, but the rumble of an explosion rings out, and the three men rush out to find an exit. They decide to search separately along the cliff to see if they can get out. The three men decide to go over to the forest, where there is no trees. They need to knock on the miasmias's door.
