The narrator returns to the orphanage, where he finds the children playing on the floor. He wonders if they're actually children from the orphanage. He also wonders if the children are playing on a trick that the heroine is playing on them. The narrator concludes that it's either the heroine or the invisible person who's trying to scare the children.
