The king's suspicions are confirmed by the fact that the box is empty, and that the night before leaving for the tigers kingdom, the king switches the two random things on his hands with this item. This is a great opportunity for the king to show off his newfound wealth, and he asks the maid to be his maid for life, as compensation for the trouble he has caused.
