It's the middle of the night, and the narrator is afraid that things are not going to go as planned. He's afraid that he's going to run into someone and steal their purse. He apologizes, but he doesn't want to be arrested for it. He just needs some money for his sick mom at home. Worried that the police are going to arrest him for it, he begs them not to. He wants them to just take care of his mother. Aww, shucks. What does that mean? What if the kid is really his mother's son? Um, no. What if there's no such thing as a "pure kinship" in this world? Um... What if that kid's really a "smiley-faced monster?" Um, what if he is a "filial son?" Um... what if this kid is just a "superficial woman" who only cares about what she can profit from a relationship. Um, that's a gross idea. The narrator is all, "Wow, you're the only person in the world who can say this with a smile!" . The two of them head off to the tiger kingdom. Confused, the narrator asks if they can just sleep for the night.
