In this chapter, we learn that the bet was made between lao lu and tan xiaocai regarding whether or not the girl could confess. The bet was that if the girl was unable to confess, the teacher and the girl would take her to an amusement park. The girl, however, is unable to participate in the bet because she was told by the teacher that she would not be able to do so. The teacher also made the girl follow his bet that he would publish two more journal entries if she confessed. The two girls kiss, but the girl does not return the kiss.
