In this scene, Cai Ming tells his son-in-law, Junhao, that he has been asked to deliver a map, a brocade box, and a handkerchief stained with blood. Cai Ming is furious, and tells the others to get out of his kingdom. He also tells him that his daughter, Ling-ying, has been poisoned, and that the antidote is already in the possession of the fifth prince.
