About This Chapter
In this chapter, the young princess tells her mother that she is a healthy little girl, and that it is wonderful that she has a prince. She tells her father that she cannot inherit the throne because the emperor is too weak to rule. The empress has given her certain drugs so that she will not be able to leave the palace. The princess begs her mother to run away, but she refuses. She says that the empress knows of her whereabouts and will kill her if she is found. She asks her mother why she never hugged her when she was younger, and why she distanced her from her siblings when they were younger. She also says that she had many conjectures, but could not figure out the riddle of her mother's gloomy gaze.
