In the palace, Cai Ming asks about the pierced ears. He says that the eunuch has asked him to do so. Cai Ming tells him that some things are not very convenient in the palace and that he is a little shy. He tells Cai Ming that they are both dead if they get caught. He asks Cai Ming if he can bail him out, but Cai Ming says that someone has been poisoning him, and that Cai Ming is at a dead end too. He then asks if Cai Ming can give Cai Ming the eighth princess to hand over to his brother in person. She says that she can't do that because Cai Ming has arranged for her to hand the princess over to her brother. She then asks him if he will tell Cai Ming in advance that Luo Qing and his brother have fallen in love, and Cai Ming replies that he will.
