The next morning, Ming asks to be let out of the house. He tells his servant that he knows a safe place, and he asks Ming to come with him. Ming reminds him that he was in the house when he heard the noise outside, and when he returned, Ming was gone. Ming says that he is here to warn Ming not to support his father after they succeed in capturing the city. Ming asks if the chief will allow his father to take the throne, and Ming replies that the second prince will not be the new emperor, so Ming should not think about betraying the people. Ming tells him to capture the eighth princess and seal off the city, but Ming says he will not let the princess get away. He sends Ming to a temple on the palace grounds, where Ming can hide as soon as he finds Caijun.
