About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the "taoist master" li chen, who complains to the "bully chancellor" that he has been "rudely barged in" without being asked to do so. He tells the chancellor that he will take his leave immediately if the chancellor will excuse him. The chancellor replies that it was never his intention to cause the chancellor any problem, and that he just wants to discuss things with the chancellor for the two servants. He sighs and says that the task he assigned to his nephew, the "fox demon" , is still to be done. He says that if he hadn't given his nephew the job, he would have starved to death. He also says that he wouldn't have done the job if it weren't for the kindness shown to him by his nephew. He adds that he would've died if he didn't repay the kindness the servants have shown him. If the chancellor doesn't spare his nephew's life, he says, he will stay and complete the job he gave the fox demon. He then threatens the chancellor, saying that he is the first person ever to dare to threaten him like that. He asks the chancellor to promise that he won't cause any harm to the nephew, and the chancellor promises to take the servant back to his own place to get treatment. He sends a message
