In the middle of the night, a young man named Cai Ling asks for an elixir, and the young man gives him one. The young man asks Cai Ling about the elixir and learns that it is a "heterochromia" that can be cured by consuming a certain amount of the elixir. Cai Ling tells him that he once heard a story about consuming an elixir and gaining eternal life, but that the elixir is just a legend. He tells Cai Ling that he would like to see the elixirs up close.
