This chapter opens with a soliloquy by a young taoist named tianjin. He tells us that he's going to die if he doesn't take care of his master soon. He's got a prescription for some medicine that he needs to give to his master. Worried that his master's health is failing, he heads to a tavern to get the medicine. When he gets there, he finds that the master has left some of the medicine in the pharmacy.
