In this short scene, Little Em'ly tells his father that he's going to put a special box in his room that's supposed to grow him into an immortal. He wants to know why he works so hard to be an immortal, and why he can't just watch stars with him. When he grows up, he says, he'll be able to understand why he does what he does.
