They begin by reading a poem called "The Head of Hair," which is said to be about a woman named Jeanne du Val. The poem was composed by the great poet, Auguste Rodolphe . The students discuss whether or not they have read the poem, and one student says that they have. The other student says he has, too, but that he has not been able to enjoy the poem as much as the other student has. The student asks if he can stay over for the night, and the student replies that he will.
