This is a locked chapterChapter 30: Softly Respiring in the Depths of Stifling Darkness
About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's been waiting for Hiroshi to show up at the inn. Hiroshi's not there yet, but he'll be soon. The narrator asks Hiroshi if he wants to talk trash about nanako or about the riverbank fire. He says he doesn't want to get into a fight with nana because he'd rather die than live with her. He tells Hiroshi that nakamura is the worst person in the world. He also says that nana would never do such a thing. He's sick of her, too, and wishes he could just get lost. He asks if Hiroshi is by himself, and Hiroshi says he is. He apologizes for not being able to bring Hiroshi with him, and says that he thinks Hiroshi will be moving to a different school in the future. He adds that Hiroshi still has a lot to do in the town, and that he hasn't given up on his dreams.
