About This Chapter
It's late, and the narrator is bummed out. He's bummed because he's going home to get some ramen. He asks the narrator if he can borrow a book from him. The narrator says he can't, because it's not good enough for him. He also tells the narrator that his friend Tokiwa is going out with a guy who's higher up in the school than she is, and that she borrowed a book to read while she's gone. Uh-oh, the narrator's got bad news for the narrator: his friend is leaving town to go out with another guy, and she met the other guy at her part-time job. He doesn't know what to do, so he borrows a book and goes to sleep. He wakes up to find that he has a lot to do: he has to go to his father's house, get some food, and get ready for school.
