About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that we're about to find out that the guy who stole the gym clothes is a pervert. He's got a plan: he's going to pretend to be a nice guy and go out with the girl, but he'll have to tell her the truth about who he really is. This is going to sound like a cop-out, but the narrator doesn't care. He just wants to be "worthy of her" , which is what he wants from her. The narrator then goes on to tell us that he is just like the other guys in the class, and that he hates sex because it's all about who gets to be sexy and who can't get enough of it. He wants to run away with her, but she won't let him do that, so he has to hide his true identity from her, and he calls her a "pervert" .
