In this chapter, the narrator reflects on his life at the prefectural high school, where he works as a prefectural student. He feels that his body is too big and his hair too short. He also feels that he is not as sexy as he thinks he is. He thinks that he has too much in common with the other prefectural students, and that he cannot compete with them. He wonders if he is free today, but he is sure that he will not be until tomorrow. He asks if he can go to a karaoke place, and Tokiwa says that they have to deal with groups of seven and more. The narrator says that he does not go to karaoke because he has not had a good time in a long time. He then asks if she goes to karaoke too, and she says that she does. He tells her that she is a good singer, and he asks her if she would like to try and have more fun since he has been there. She says that since he did come, why not have a little fun. He says that there is no way he will ever forget where he is
