About This Chapter
It's night, and the Atmo sphere seems to be on the verge of falling into the hands of the undead. The narrator says that he's not sure if the words he heard from his brother are really what he said, but that he has been watching his brother for 12 years, so he understands his feelings and emotions quite well. He asks if she would teach him about love, and she says that she hasn't said anything about it. She says that it's a big deal that she can't fall in love with someone who mutters something like that. The two go off to find a rope to get out of the hole. They talk about how they've found a place to keep the body of a dead zombie in a cold storage room. They say that the fairy tale is true that this is a natural place for a dead body to keep its decay to a minimum. They're glad that they found this place, because if the dead woman spends the summer there, she'll be able to keep her body at a minimum temperature. They go on to say that they're going to get a rope so they can get out from the hole, and then the narrator says, "I know I'm bothering everybody but just a little bit, little longer" . He's referring to the fact that if she stays in the cold room, she won't have to worry about dying. He says that even if he doesn't live, he has no regrets, because he'll have no regrets if he dies. He thinks that he heard his wish, and that he can stay in the hole forever. He wonders if he can do anything to help him, and he says that if he could, he'd prove to him that he could do anything for him. Uh-oh, he says, he thinks that
