The chapter opens with the narrator explaining that he has come to live at the university because he loves oatmeal. He says that he cannot live in someone else's house for free because he is a "hardworking and sensible person" . He tells us that he is the only person he has ever met who does not play video games, reads for two hours a day, and does not eat breakfast. He adds that she is the most disciplined person he's ever met. She wakes up early every morning and has breakfast for seven days in a row. The narrator says that she will definitely let him live in her house. He then tells us about a young woman who is waking up early and lifting her hem to go to the loo. He thinks she is just naked. The young woman is the one who has everything exposed. She says that the best way to get out of the shower when you are caught in it is to cover yourself with your face. This way, no one will recognize you. She goes on to say that she has attended anatomy lessons and that she knows how to cover her face when she is caught in a shower. She then tells the young woman that she wants to have breakfast with her husband. She asks him how he could just meddle in the schedule. He replies that he had prepared the breakfast in a dilemma and that it had a balanced flavour just like how he likes it. He also says that if he makes a fuss because the breakfast is wrong, it will ruin his schedule. Since he is young, he has never been punished for breaking the rules. This is a principle engraved within him, he says. He explains that he does not want to break the rules, because breaking them means punishment. He gives us an important announcement that the university is holding today.
